August 26 Self promotion must be relevant and remarkable....Blogs are full of self promotion. I confess my first aim with this blog was to advertise my abilities and while there is nothing wrong with that, I have learned that it does not work. What works is a good story, even if it is about yourself, that is both relevant and remarkable for your audience. You want it to be relevant otherwise it does not capture your audience. They want you to tell them stories that are relevant to their interests or needs. If what you say is relevant you are at the starting point. To get going you also need your story to be remarkable. If it is remarkable your audience will talk about it with their peers. The message will spread quickly. August 25 This is a digital experiment....If I start blogging on this site again let's see how quickly it can recover as a source of Google reference. Since I stopped blogging on this site it has completely dropped off the Google search map. So here we go. We are back at it. We are experimenting with digital feedback loops to see how quickly they work for bloggers who go offline for a short break and then reappear...... |
